Fascinating! Love the back story, a nice example of generosity from Joe. And the boots themselves are gorgeous! (Hmmm... wonder if they do anything similar in my size...?) After visiting the fantastic V&A 'Shoes' exhibition a couple of years ago I'd like to think they might end up somewhere like that, so that they can be enjoyed by lots of people. Hope they don't just end up locked away in a private collector's cupboard.
Love it. Those boots pretty much scream 'rock and roll!'. I wonder what Joe would make of it? Up to $12,000...nice. Would you sell them?

If all the episodes of Antiques Roadshow were like that, I would be a faithful viewer. Fascinating.
ReplyDeleteI've seen it all now - the Clash on Antiques Roadshow. God, I feel old!
ReplyDeleteThis is interesting. A lot of money for a pair of second hand boots. I didn't know there was a US version of Antiques Roadshow.
