'Sir Ollife Leigh & Other Ghosts' is the
first LP Oliver Cherer has chosen to issue
using his own name, previously working exclusively under the Dollboy moniker. The record
examines loss and the end of life, with
artists such as Robert Wyatt, Martin Carthy
and Syd Barrett initially coming to mind as
musical touchpoints.
From 'Sir Ollife Leigh & Other Ghosts' this
is 'When We Shut Down'.
And in case you're not familiar with his previous work, here's Cherer in Dollboy mode, with the
beautiful 'One Liner' from 2009's 'A Beard of
Bees'.

Tremendous. He does like Robert Wyatt, doesn't he? And why not? Best thing I've heard and learned this week. Never heard of him before but will have to put that right. I note that he also does an Ivor Cutler cover (see Soundcloud). Good fellow.
New to me to0, where have I been? that was great...loved the FA video too.
Will be checking this out
Glad you enjoyed chaps. It's not even the best thing on the album. A real grower.
This guy is the real deal. Check out all his work, it is well worth the time and effort!
