Gosh, 'Evergreen in Your Mind' is a gorgeous album. Juni Habel's third LP, her first in three years, is a warm affair, gently leaning towards (but not quite) freak-folk with hints of wistful psychedelia. Musical accompaniment is kept to a minimum, often little more than a single, gently plucked, nylon stringed acoustic guitar, pushing Juni's soft voice front and centre. The eleven songs were recorded around her home and in the school where she works, unplanned creaking chairs and rattling keys only adding to the tender intimacy of the performances.
