Higgins Waterproof Black Magic Band
I'm indebted to Steve Lamacq for alerting me to
Tunde Adebimpe's new project, Higgins
Waterproof Black Magic Band. I'll make time
in my life to check out whatever any member
of TV on the Radio is up to, but this one
slipped by me, at least until now.
Here's a live version of 'Mad Lifeline', from
the band's debut EP, along with a remix of
the same tune by Massive Attack's 3D. Check
out the whole EP here.

Heard the remix tonight whilst doing the old washing up. I'm glad you've given me another chance to hear it so soon again because it passed me by a bit. I really like the first life performance above but I'm still a little uncertain about 3D's remix as it reminds me too much of the sound of Massive Attack's last album which I didn't enjoy much at all. Anything with whistling always appeals, though - 'I Was Kaiser Bill's Batman', 'Games Without Frontiers', nearly everything by Roger Whittaker! Will check out the EP. The really raved about the single on the Lamacq show, didn't they? Compared to most of the other crap, it probably was a 9/10.
Whistling long ago took over from tapping my fingers on tables as the number one way of entertaining myself, while simultaneously driving Mrs S up the wall. I can't help it though - I'm addicted to whistling!
It amuses me to know that we were both washing up as we listened to the same program.
Tis a funny old world. I'll be thinking of you next time I'm scrubbing the pans! It's *always* in the middle of Steve Lamacq but I then tend to miss Marc Riley.
Thanks for this TS absolutely superb and the remix is immaculate
