Hermits on Hiatus
Were I not a little long in the tooth to use such an expression, I might well have described 'Hermits on Holiday' by Drinks as being my latest jam. Drinks is a collaboration between Tim Presley of White Fence and the great Cate Le Bon, both of whom have featured on these pages in the past. 'Hermits on Holiday' is the title track of their debut LP, due for release at the end of August. This is the stuff.

Yeah, I love this. Anything Ms Le Bon does is worth investigating. Looking forward to the album.
Don't know anything about White Fence and Cate Le Bon sometimes leaves me a bit cold but I like this. It has a rather early '80's, Cherry Red or Rough Trade feel, if you know what I mean. The simplicity is splendid.
I like this1
Way to go, Swede. I might have missed this one.
Oops, forgot to mention my copy of Broken Heart Surgery arrived today. I'll be putting that on this evening. Thanks again.
TheRobster. Ditto.
Singing Bear. I know exactly what you mean. I love its scratchy minimalism.
Charity Chic. I warn you, it becomes a total earworm if you're not careful.
Brian. Glad you picked it up. 'Downsizing' was one of my most played tracks of last year.
This is the stuff!!
Weirdo lo fi shit, in a good way- I like it.
Tim Presley was one of the "Dudes" who helped MES out with the Fall when the last line up combusted in the middle of the US tour he was also on the RPTLC album toured the UK and recorded one of the tracks in the new album Black Roof. Saw him with the gruppe and his guitar made most excellent noises.
Cate Le Bon can do no wrong for me. Great track and will be acquiring this album!
Old Pa. T'is indeed!
Swiss Adam. Insanely catchy weirdo lo-fi shit to boot!
Drew. I'd missed the Fall connection completely until Marc Riley mentioned it after playing a White Fence tune some months back. Whatta guy.
George. I can't wait either.
