Definitely with you on Sexwitch, an astonishingly good record. The Songhoy Blues album is one of the most interesting African records I've heard in a while. But Sleaford Mods? Couple of blokes from the council estate with a ghetto blaster who shout a bit over the top of it. From the interviews I've read/seen with them, they don't seem like the sort of fellas I'd like to have a pint with either.

Or perhaps I just don't get it...

I like Sleaford Mods but I don't need to listen to them very often. It's good they are there. We need more people with something to say.
Sexwitch is fantastic.

I'm really liking Dungen. Very 1971.

I saw Songhboy Blues this year, a great show they put on, stretching out songs such as this for ten or so minues, great grooves, great rhythms, well worth watching.

Ditto exactly what Swiss Adam says about Sleaford Mods. I find them utterly compelling, mainly to watch performing rather than just to listen to - intense, a little disturbing but so oddly endearing!

Some stirring things here. I love the Dungen track - you can never better psychedelic flute in my book. Must listen more closely to them. Sexwitch is quite stunning. Bat For Lashes has done much for me but this is very appealing. Sleaford Mods - meh.

This is a fantastic list!

I didn't hear the new Dungen, and I haven't thought about them in years since their late 00's heyday. I'm going to have to give them another try.

Looking forward to 1-10!

Sleaford Mods also put on one of my gigs of the year. Intense, focussed, funny, exhausting. Who'd have thought a sweary sweaty man accompanied by another bloke who basically bobbed about drinking beer could be such fun? They were though!
