'London Calling' by The Clash was released 35 years ago this week. When discussing the album, I invariably paraphrase Brian Clough; 'I wouldn't say it's the best LP ever, but it's in the top one.'

That's a great quote - I'll have to remember it!
It's a bit heart-stopping to think it's so long ago, isn't it? If I remember rightly I was given it as a Christmas present - perfect timing. The bit that's hardest for me to get my head around was that I was 16 when I first heard it. London Calling equals fond memories.
The fact that 'London Calling' has been a big part of my musical life for 35 years is, frankly, terrifying!
P.S. It's Paul Simonon's 59th birthday today too!
That Cloughie - he knew a thing or two about music!
The Clash and Brian Clough all in one post - perfect. 'London Calling' - utterly spiffing.
