The new Monkees LP, 'Good Times!' is co-produced by Adam Schlesinger of Fountains of Wayne and features songwriting contributions from the likes of Rivers Cuomo, Noel Gallagher, Paul Weller and Andy Partridge. Best of the bunch, however, is 'Me & Magdalena', a bewitching gem of a pop song, written by Ben Gibbard of Death Cab For Cutie. Micheal Nesmith and Micky Dolenz handle the vocals. Sublime.

I have wanted to post about the album but couldn't find the courage. This is as good a time as any to come clean. I love it. I'll be taking my 10 year old to see the fellas when they come to town in September. He's a big fan too.
TS I saw the album and just thought it was some sort of compilation. This is great and I will seek out the album immediately. I loved them in the sixties and had all their albums. Did you know I'm a believer was written by Neil Diamond....of cours you did. Did a post a while back about some of the Monkeys covering Dylan. Oh! Yea!
