In 1977, for 'Life After Life, Alternative TV's second single on Deptford Fun City Records, the band drafted in a young Jools Holland to provide stabbing soulful counterpoints to the song's reggae soundscape. Mark Perry & co were on an early career roll with the debut 7" 'How Much Longer' preceding it and 'Love Lies Limp', 'Action Time Vision' & 'Life' all following within the next 12 months - classic singles one and all.

They were really different and classic singles, as you say. The title of your post also lulled me into a false sense of Winter coldness for a very brief moment just there.... oh for some snow....!
As C said - it would beg for some snow here tomorrow. Thank you for bringing a band to my memory that I almost forgot Swede. Great stuff.

'Life After Dub' was my intro to dub music. Not the usual route but probably quite a common one for a dumb white kid. I loved it so much and I still love all that ATV did back then. Mark was a true great.
