Version City #12 - David McComb sings Leonard Cohen

The late great David McComb of The Triffids was clearly an admirer of Leonard Cohen, particularly, it seems, of laughing Len's least loved LP, 'Death of a Ladies Man'. First McComb (with Adam Peters) covered 'Don't Go Home with Your Hard-On' for the 1991 tribute album 'I'm Your Fan', then two years later, in cahoots with The Blackeyed Susans, he delivered this sparkling reading of 'Memories'.

Good attempt, If I can remeber Bob and Allen Ginsberg are in the backing vocals on the original...I quite liked the album, strange cmbination Specter and Cohen.

I still like 'Death of a Ladies Man' too. It was the first Cohen album I ever heard, so you can imagine my surprise when I went back to check out some of his earlier LP's!

Good version! 'Ladies Man' is not really my favourite Lenny album but it has its moments. Phil Spector? Was this really a good idea? Didn't Bob and Allen only sing on 'Don't Go Home...' or was there more?
