For a few precious months in 1967, the mean streets of Walthamstow were made safe by a mysterious masked superhero, wearing a hood, cape and, erm, sandals. He didn't shelter in a Batcave. He didn't need a Batmobile. He had no use for a Utility Belt. For he had in his possession a weapon that made the criminal fraternity of the day quake in their boots. He had one of his Mum's wooden coat-hangers with the metal hook taken out.

Priceless! And a great choice from Pebbles too.
What coathanger? ;-)
Please tell me you had a Batman & Robin mug too?! Much prized by my sister and me, I just wish I still had mine!
Never had a mug, but I did have a couple of Batman & Robin handkerchiefs! I found them again in a box over 35 years later, when I was clearing Mum's house after she died. The prints on them were faded, barely visible. Mrs S suggested I put them on eBay. A collector in America paid a small fortune for them! Remarkable.
I'll let you know if I ever see an original Batman mug on my travels.

Had Batman outfit myself. Used to go around Bristol solving all sorts of dastardly crime. Later went in for a Coleman's uniform, which didn't'go down so well in St. Paul's. We should form a superheroes club. Great pic.
