Red Gold & Green #22 - Ken Boothe
It's Mrs S's birthday. I'm writing this a few days ahead of time and we've not yet decided exactly what we're doing by way of celebration, but if I were a betting man I'd stick a fiver on it involving a coastal walk, a pub and a big plate of chips. We're easily pleased.
Here for Mrs S, on her special day, is her favourite song by her favourite reggae artist, Ken Boothe's 1973 cover of Syl Johnson's 'Is it Because I'm Black?'

HappY birthday Mrs S - ️enjoy your chips
Happy Birthday Mrs S. Hope you have a great time
Penblwydd Hapus Mrs S.
Happy birthday, Mrs. S.
A friend and colleague of mine does, on occasion, use the title of this song whenever asked by management to do something she doesn't quite fancy doing.
"Why are you asking me to do this? Is it...?"
No stealing your partner's chips. Parabens Mrs S. Great great song today
In her honor, I promise not to play the Scritti Politti Turntable Mix today. This is the greatest gift I can give to Mrs. S. Happy Birthday!
Thanks for your greetings one and all. Sea air was taken and chips were consumed, very much as predicted, though, as of this typing (7.36pm), alcoholic beverages have yet to be quaffed. I'm hoping that situation is going to change in the next few minutes.
Sorry I'm late but it's still the 2nd so a very happy birthday to Mrs S and good to hear you enjoyed your sea air and chips.
Love the song too.
